today you go to metacritic and and you get a "metascore" - an average of all the reviews of stuff out there. (games, music, films, books, tv) this score is not an unreliable matter of opinion. its a matter of fact.

domestic travel agency H.I.S. tries to encourage people to catch their dreams with the "first dream" hatsuyume campaign that features a seemingly odd combination of baseball player Takeshi Shinjyo posing next to a big purple eggplant with mt. fuji in the background and a flying eagle. what? but according to japanese superstition, it is lucky to see one of these three things - Shinjyo aside - in your dreams. ads can't get any more domestic than this.
dagashi BAR - recently introduced to us by a fellow bbh tokyo-er, this small drinking site features all you can eat old skool japanese snacks and decor from the 60s. looked down upon by japanese as a gimmick attraction, it ironically is packed full with locals everyday of the week. gimmick or no gimmick?! check it out for yourself http://r.gnavi.co.jp/g485002/
